How to Write a Visa Invitation Letter for Australia Tourist Visa (Subclass 600)
Writing an invitation letter for Australian visa or any country can be quite challenging. What is most important is to ensure that all the required information is in the letter. There is no specific method or style once all the required information is visible in the letter. The Australian Consulate or Embassy requires this letter.
In summary, the following should be on the invitation letter.
Your letter must include the following information about the person being invited:
- Complete name.
- Date of birth.
- The person’s address and telephone number.
- Your relationship to the person being invited.
- The purpose of the trip.
- How long the person you are inviting intends to stay in Australia.
- Details on accommodation and living expenses.
- The date the person you are inviting intends to leave Australia.
Your letter must also include the following information about the person writing the letter:
- Complete name.
- Date of birth.
- Address and telephone number in Australia.
- Occupation in Australia.
- Your status in Australia

Hi
Can my friends apply for me?
They’re international students in Sydney .
What are the procedures could you please tell me?
Thank you
Hi Faheem, They can invite you. But they cannot apply for you.
I done know anyone in Australia, how can I get an invitation,I want to go and study, please help me
Hi Daniel,
You don’t need an invitation letter to study in Australia. You need an ADMISSION LETTER from a school.
Hi!
The sample examples given are really good and have given so much knowledge. I was wondering if you could help me with my questions.
I am planning to get my friend who have known for more than 5 years to come here in Oz(Sydney) to visit for 2 weeks, with a possibility of multiple entries(visa duration 3 months) My questions are:
1. Which visitor visa is best in our circumstances – would it be the Tourist Stream or Sponsored Family Stream(I dont know if I can apply on this one)?
2. Is there a bond required for such a short visit?
3. If I will show a bank statement to show that I could support them, about how much money do I need in the bank?
4. Approximately how much time does it take for visa to come?
5. Is there anything other than this that I will have to keep in mind before submitting the application?
6. What are the exact proofs required for my friend to show she would return back to home country(India)?
Here are the circumstances:
1. Most importantly – I’m on a 457 Visa and not a permanent resident. However, I have been in Australia since Nov’16 and the house I have rented is on my name solely – I can provide a Tenancy Agreement.
2. My friend is 24 yrs old and working in the IT Sector(Full time)
3. They don’t own any property under their names. But have a rental tenancy agreement for a year till Nov’2017.
4. Friend’s bank accounts dont show more than 1000 AUD, but I’m happy to sponsor – Air tickets, stay, food and all the other expenses here.
So far what I have found out:
1. Letter of invite has to be provided.
2. Evidence of funds in my AUD account.(How much?)
Looking forward to some awesome help on this. Thanks!
Hi Saumya,
Thanks for comments. I do not know how long it takes to get a visa to Australia from India. The time varies from country to country. However I suggest you always give ample time. 2 – 3 months ahead of the time you want your friend to visit is not too much. Yes if you are sponsoring your friend then you need to calculate the amount needed for tickets, and add daily expenses for 2 weeks.
You can use this website to give you an idea of costs – https://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/global/live-in-australia/living-costs
If possible, it is always better for your friend to show that she can take care of the cost for the visit. If she has a regular income and 1000 AUD in her account plus ticket costs, she should be okay for a 2 weeks visit.
I can help you in one thing only. Year ago I used this service to get visa – https://etaaustraliaonline.com/. Recommend it.
Hi.. now i have a grant of bridging visa a..i will thumb print on 18 april 2017. My wife and my son want to visit me in Melbourne. My wife want to come here on 9th april 2017. What should i do?

Hi how to write a letter needed for a company in Australia to invite someone from the Philippines there for training purposes. It would be for the sake of securing a VISA to visit the company in Australia for training.

hi there
How should i send my invitation letter to the embassy?
If you are the guest, then visit the Australia Immigration website and follow the instructions. Your invitation letter is just one of the documents you will need. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1
If you are the host. Send the invitation letter to your guest.
How can someone apply for Australia visa with invitation letter? Going to Australia embassy with the invitation or scheduling for interview online?
Hi Danielson,
It depends on what country you are in. You may need to visit the embassy to get the application forms. You may try this site too.

I’d like to invite 3 friends of mine to visit us in Sydney. They will stay in a Sydney hotel for 3 weeks and during that time I’ll take a week off work to take them around Sydney and nearby towns, and the other 2 weeks they will tour on their own.
Should they show proof of savings, how much should they have in their account. What other documents should they present at the embassy?
Hi Cynthia,
I guess you are the one writing the invitation letter. For 3 weeks, they should have enough money to cover the hotel bills and extra money for transport and other expenses. They should also have the money for their plane tickets. What matters most is that they have regular income and enough to cover the trip. $

Hi,
I live in Australia and I am Australian permanent resident. Currently, I work full time.
Unfortunately, my dad passed away few month back. I really need to have one of my family here with me to share feelings! My sister is only the person who is able to make it right now, but I do not know how I can invite her here without any problem as she is single!
Could you please help me?
Regards,
Mina
Hi Mina,
I am very sorry for your loss. I suggest that you invite your sister anyway. She may get the visa. The visa officers do take these things into considerations too. Just make sure she has all the required documents that show the loss of your father. I pray things work out well for you and your family.

Hi Vanessa,
He would need to get a passport before you write the letter. You should write the passport number on the invitation letter. You send the invitation letter to him. He takes the invitation letter and other documents to the Australia Embassy in his country and fills out an application form. He can also access the form online.
Hi,
Me and my wife are permanent resident visa holder and living in Australia since one and a half plus years. At the moment, I am unemployed and my wife is working. We would like to invite my mom on a visit visa to see her grand children. however, her brother has to accompany her as he is financially and mentally dependent upon her and have to travel with her wherever she goes. My question is
a) Should she mention that he is mentally disabled since birth and have to travel along with her.
b) Can we invite both of them or only my mum to visit Australia.
c) If we invite only my mum, how her brother will (who is mentally disabled) will be given visit visa to accompany
I have all evidences to proof the facts. Please respond.
Regards,
Hi Anonymous,
I really don’t know how these issues are treated. I have never experienced this particular situation. I am sorry that I do not have an answer for you. What I may try though is to invite both of them.
Hi,
Currently, I’m on bridging visa after lodging partner visa. I wish to invite my family here to visit my husband as well as his family. I and my husband don’t sponsor them financially but they can take care of the expenses during the trip.
Can I’m the one who write the invitation letter? Does this letter need to be notarised by any authority? Can I invite my cousins as well or just parent and sister?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks a lot.
Hi Norah,
You are eligible to invite anyone. Usually, after sending an invitation letter, it is more on your guest to proof that they will not overstay their welcome in Australia.

Am sorry for too much questioning thanks you very in advance
As an Australian resident, I realize how hard it is to travel to Australia from certain countries. , I, therefore, cooperate with you by invitation to applications, by sending them an invitation, the letter only. this letter includes a genuine reason for travel, this incentive is to encourage the overseas Australian Visa post the grant of entry. not just a visa. as many people have been sent back due to inconsistent statements upon there arrival in Australia. we are not an immigration agent, as to our experience they do not act in the interests of you as an applicant, as to there own statements. we advise you to seek independent advice, We do this by giving you protection, for your investment of application fees. if your visit is A genuine visit we like to assist you, we work on a no gain no fee basses. our fee is only collectible upon your arrival. we also can protect your visa fee upon request. conditions apply. please contact me for more information, thank you, Oswald Bruggemans.

I am currently living in Sydney Short Term work visa(Subclass 400) for 3 months processed through my company. I wanted to invite my wife & second daughter ( 3 years) on tourist visa for 2 weeks. I have proof of return ticket to return back in Mar.

2) I am going to give only bank statements of my home country as i still get my home country salary only?
3) I stay in a hotel, can i use that address in the letter
4) Do i need to provide any other document to prove that my wife & daughter’s expenses will be taken care by me?
5) My first daughter (8 years old) will not come as she has her school academics going on, so can i mention this as a strong family tie to prove that my wife will return back
Appreciate your response please.
Hi, I’m interested in my girlfriend coming from Brazil to Australia for an extended stay on a visitor visa (90 days). During her stay, I want to get engaged and show her around Australia during the weekends as I don’t want to use my holidays. This will also be used to give her some insight to the culture and where we’ll be living in the future (fiancee visa). Can you give me some insight to what type of information is required for the best chance of her obtaining a 90 days visitor visa? I’ll be supporting her during her stay (financially).
Hi Admin! Can my friend who is not an australian citizen but a current student in australia provide a letter of invitation for me? Will that work? Hope you’ll respond. Thanks!
Yes, a student can write an invitation letter if they have a valid study permit
Thanks so much for your prompt response. Since my trip to Australia is a self finance, do i really need a letter from my friend who is studying there, will it make a difference?
