hi im lili and im australian permanent and waiting for my citizenship , i passed my exam now im waiting .ive boyfreind in my hometown which id like to invite him for 2 weeks to visit me to holiday and get to know each other . do i need to send letter from australia and what is the chance of geting this for him ? thank you
Hi Lili, yes you need to send him an invitation letter from Australia! The chance of him getting a visa is about 50% because it is very difficult for him to prove that he will return to his home country! However if he has a very good job and lots of reasons to return to his home country then he may simply apply as a tourist and then visit you!
Hi my husband is an Australian and i want to visit him , we got separated 4 years ago.Do i need an invitation lettter from him? Please

Hello,
I am a NZ citizen who has lived in Australia for over 10 years. Can I invite my gf from the philippines to visit for a week? Or do they only allow PR’s and Citizens?
Regards,
Jay
Hi Jay,
If you are living legally in Australia, you can invite a guest. The real challenge however is for your gf to show that she will return to the Philippines after her visit.
Dear Admin,
I am Australian and currently living in Paris with my French fiancé, he has recently had his partner visa approved and we will be returning to Australia to live permanantly in January 2017, however his parents would like to join us in our travels to Australia and are applying for the 12 month 600 Visa, this requires a letter of invitation and my question is am I able to write this for them or do I need to be in Australia ?
Hi Katrina,
You are able to write this letter for them if you have an address in Australia. You are a citizen and you have the right to invite them.
Dear Admin,
I will be joining a friend on the rally indonesia (annual international sailing) that will start in July from Australia to Indonesia. I need to be there earlier for testing and some pre sailing training. What do you suggest that he write?
Thank you.
Em,
Your friend should state the reason for the visit.
Hi,
I want to write an invitation for my sister and dad to come visit me and my family here in Perth. The only issue I see is that I am a stay-at-home mum looking after my two kids but my husband has a permanent job. We have our own house on mortgage. And both of us are Australian Citizens. Will my non-employment status affect the decision for their visa application?
Hi Dazzell,
No your employment status will not affect the decision. What is most important is that your family members show that they will return home after their visit. You may choose to write the letter with your husband. That way it shows that you are both inviting them.
Thank you very much. What you said really help me in deciding how to go over the invitation letter for my father and sister.
Hi,
Can I ask if there’s any school credentials needed for tourist visa? Thank you.
If you are a student, you may need to show that you are in school and you intend to return to your school to complete your program. In this case, a transcript will be good.
Dear Admin,
Im married to an Australian. But he has no job for 2 years now. Can my husband’s brother sponsor a tourist visa for me and my baby? Because my brother in law is financially stable and wants to sponsor a tourist visa for us. Thankyou.
Dear Kate,
The visa officer would want to know why your husband is not inviting you. Also they would want to know why you are applying for a tourist visa and not an immigrant visa.
Hi Admin,
I have a friend in thailand i want to invite to Aus for 4 weeks. Can i apply for a tourist visa for her on her behalf here in Aus.
I understand that i will need to give her an invitation letter, also a letter of invitation and intention with the visa application. I will be supporting her during her stay. I do own and manage a Pty Ltd Company and financially stable. I will be on leave while she is here.
What do i need to do?
Hi Peter,
She has to apply for the visa on her own. You can only support her with documents. She still has to show that she would return to Thailand after the visit.
Hi Im Merlina
Im planning to invite my friend to visit me from Indonesia to melbourne, I’m currently studying here as an international student for almost 3 years. I will be supporting her expenses and accomodation while she is in Australia, that means that I have to prove my financial status such as bank statement in the invitation letter? how much money in the bank should I have in order for the tourist visa to be granted?
what else do I need to do?
Thank you, looking forward for your reply
Hi Merlina,
Sorry I thought I had responded to your question. Here it is again. You really do not need to show financial proof that you can host your guest. It is your guest that needs to show that she has a regular income or schooling that will make him/her go back to indonesia after the visit. You are not required to provide proof of funds. If however you want to provide any document, you should simply provide proof of regular income if you have any. I hope this helps.
Hi,
sorry Im still a little bit confused, as far as Im concerned, the tourist visa requirements said that it needs to proof of having at least Indonesian rupiah of 5 millions or AUD 5000 as well as the consistency for the past 3 months of having those funds in order for the visa to be granted. however my friend doesn’t have that much of money because its me who invited her and will support all her expenses while in Australia. Is there any minimum amount of regular income that my friend should show in the application?
and also, does the letter of working in institution of my friend classified as a prove that she will return to Indonesia after the visit?
Thank you
Hi Merlina,
There are more factors involved in granting a visa than the money. Since your friend does not have much money in her account, then it may just be a little more difficult for her to get a visa. My suggestion is that your friend gets letters from her place of work and any other document that she thinks can help her show that she will return to indonesia – such as community, family ties, landed properties… It’s not easy for people who are young and not properly tied to their home countries to get visas. However, its not impossible. I think you can support your friends application with your pay stub from the last 3 months if you have a job.
You may also wish to consult an immigration lawyer to help with the visa application. They would charge you some money though.
I want to send invitation letter for somebody from india on business trip.
I am in business but not trading yet the intention for visit is to fetch business.
Hi Dems! Good Day! I will be applying for a Visitor Visa to Australia this March. My sister is not yet a resident in Australia (PR) since she has been staying there for 1 yr and 4 months now. She is going to apply for a PR later of June. Her current status in Oz is Skilled Migrant Visa holder of Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489). Do you think she could invite me for a visit? as my Australian Contact? Is it necessary that the one who invites you must be a Permanent Resident or an Australian Citizen?
Hi Lechar,
Anyone who is a legal resident of Australia is eligible to invite you. i think your sister is eligible. if you can show that you have enough ties to your home country, you may visit Australia. If however you intend on immigrating to Australia, its better to follow the path for immigration. For this i would suggest you contact an immigration lawyer.
Hi Admin,
Could you please kindly look into my post below?
Thank you for your help,
Sandy Nguyen
Hi Admin,
I am on bridging spouse visa and being 8 month pregnant. My husband is Australian citizen. We would like to invite my mom to visit Australia to support us in taking care of the baby (our first one). My mom visited Australia one time before (on our wedding occasion). Should I or my husband write the invitation letter? And can you advise how many months my mom can apply for the visa to stay here with us? We expect she can stay at least 12 months.
Awaiting for your feedback.
Thanks a lot
Sandy
Sandy Nguyen,
You can both write the invitation letter. Officially she can stay for up to 12 months. She would need to show financial proof that she can be in Australia for that long. Since she will be staying with you and your husband, your financial documents as well as hers may be sufficient.
Take note that stating that she will be caring for your baby is like saying that she would work in Australia. In that case you may be looking at another class of visa that enables a person to work. What I have experienced others do is ask for a visit from the Grandmother to share the joy of the baby and spend some time with you. For this type of visit, she may be approved for up to 6 months. Once she is in the country, before the visa expires, you can then attempt to extend the visa. At that time she may then be approved for another 6 months. It’s pretty easy to extend a visa if you apply before the current one expires.
I hope this helps?
Hi Admin,
I am looking forward to have your advice.
Thank you,
Sandy
Hi Admin,
My father, who is 82 years old, wants me to visit my sick mother who is in a nursing home. I am having a hard time asking my siblings to send me an invitation. My father is a pensioner living with my sister and her family. He said I can stay with them during my visit. Can I just apply without an invitation or can my father send me the invitation? I am currently working and can provide my coe, itr and credit card statements. I also have children in my country. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.
Hi Missy,
Unless you apply as a tourist, you will need a letter from your family in Australia. Your father can send you an invitation. If however you plan on staying with your sister, you will need an invitation from them as well. If your father is providing the invitation, then you may need a different place to stay. If you have the funds, then that may be your best option.
thats good God blees you
