Traveling is one of my hobbies. I am glad that I have a Canadian Passport that allows me to travel to a lot of countries without applying for a visa. That does not mean that when friends want to visit me in Canada or USA they can just come over. I still have to write an invitation letter. If you are like me, what I would do is go to google and enter ” invitation letter for visitor visa friend “. First things First.
To get a Visitor Visa to the USA, your guest does not really need an invitation letter. An invitation letter would help to show the reason for your guest’s visit. Read what the US visa office has to say on this issue
It would also show that they have a friend in the USA. So now you know that you do not need to worry too much about the content of your letter.
Basic content of an Invitation Letter For Visitor Visa – Friend
For this letter, you should make sure you have the full names of your guest and maybe their passport number. You need to indicate the dates you guest would enter and leave the united states of America and their relationship to you.

Who to address the Letter to
You can either address your invitation letter to your friend or to the Visa Officer. It doesn’t matter. I have used both formats and many of my readers have used both formats. They both work well.
Personally, I prefer to write to my friend because it sounds better. But that is just my preference. I also prefer this because the letter would be sent to your friend to include in his application package.

I am so glad that you are planning to visit me in the USA during your annual leave. Please take this as a fromal invitation for visa application. You can come on August 7th, 2019 and leave September 7th 2019.

I have attached a copy of my passport this letter.
I hope to see you soon.

Final Comments
Date: Do not forget to date your letter. A letter is invalid when we don’t know when the letter was written.
Signature: Please do not forget to sign the letter. I cannot tell you how many people have sent out unsigned letters in the past. Of course, your friend would notice and ask you to sign it.
